CREATING BEAUTIFUL SMILES
Top Cosmetic Dentist Guelph ON, Guelph
Cosmetic dentistry is a desired dental treatment growing in popularity. Cosmetic dentistry involves whitening, sculpting, removing spaces, and restoring missing or broken teeth. As with any medical procedure, the advantages and risks should be taken into account. Consulting a trusted professional is essential when considering any of these treatments.
Any benefits and concerns you have should be discussed with your dentist. The amount of experience and success your dentist has had in the past will directly correlate with any results you should expect.
Teeth Whitening
For many people, brushing, flossing, and over-the-counter teeth whitening products do not improve the discoloration of your teeth. Dr. Taimish can offer professional-grade in-office and take-home teeth whitening solutions for a brighter and whiter smile.
Zoom! Whitening
With Zoom! Teeth whitening, patients of Dr. Taimish, can have their teeth whitened with up to nine complementary shades in our office. Zoom! Treatments take about an hour, where a whitening gel is applied to your teeth in 15-minute intervals. During each session, select Zoom! Light is directed at your teeth to break up stains and discoloration. The entire process takes only an hour, leaving you with a beautiful white smile.
Take-Home Whitening
Patients of Dr. Taimish also have the option of take-home professional-grade whitening kits. These options are still much more effective when compared to over-the-counter treatments and can provide dramatic results in just a few weeks.
Porcelain Veneers
A Beautiful New Smile in Two Visits or Less! Porcelain Veneers with Dr. Ammar Taimish.
Porcelain Veneers are thin shells of porcelain bonded directly to the surface of your teeth. This treatment can transform imperfect smiles into perfection. Porcelain veneers are a cosmetic dentist's most valued achievement. Veneers can conceal teeth that are yellow, stained, chipped, cracked, and even resolve minor orthodontic imperfections. Porcelain veneers give you a brilliant smile that can significantly impact your appearance.
What Should I Expect with Porcelain Veneers?
When you visit our Guelph office, Dr. Taimish will discuss the improvements in your smile that you want to accomplish. Dr. Taimish will consider your unique facial shape and features to help choose the style of veneer that is most complimentary. Our office staff will take a quick impression of your teeth and buff a tiny amount of enamel off the surface to allow for sufficient bonding and space for your porcelain veneers. At this visit, you will be able to leave our office with temporary veneers. After your permanent veneers return from our dental lab, you will return to our office for your final fitting. At this visit, your new custom veneers are bonded to your teeth.
Inlays/Onlays
Old metal fillings are no longer commonly used, and we now have a more attractive and healthier alternative. Tooth-colored ceramic or composite materials are the preferred option in tooth restoration treatments. Porcelain fillings are more durable, supportive, and more appealing than previous metal fillings. When repairs cover the top of the tooth, inside the cusp, or the ridge or curve at the top of the tooth, this method is called an inlay. If one or more sides of a tooth need repair and the material extend over the cusp, it is called an onlay. Previous metal restorations lasted for approximately ten years, while ceramic inlays and onlays have a lifespan of up to thirty years!
Smile Makeovers
A smile makeover is a complete transformation. In some cases, every single tooth is carefully repaired and reconstructed. Smile makeovers consist of teeth whitening, orthodontics, restorations, bridges, crowns, and veneers. The results are dramatic! Improving your smile can transform your entire appearance.
Dental Bonding
Bonding adheres to ceramic or plastic material to your teeth. This process is used to fill cavities, hide discoloration, and fill small spaces in between teeth. Dental bonding is used to secure veneers, inlays, and onlays, and plastic fillings used to strengthen teeth.
Gum Contouring
Gum contouring also called gum reshaping and tissue sculpting, is used to even out the gumline. When your gums rest very high or low on your teeth, it can affect the appearance of your smile. Dr. Taimish can easily expose more of the teeth using a dental laser. This treatment is non-surgical, with minimal bleeding and inflammation—a quick and simple remedy to cure a gummy smile.
Bridges and Crowns
If a tooth requires significant restoration because of decay over a majority of the surface, a crown is fixed to cap it. In a root canal procedure, a cap is almost always necessary to protect the tooth structure. A root canal treatment can cause the tooth to become dry and brittle, needing extra protection to prevent chipping or cracking. Crowns protect and shelter the entire tooth to the gumline. Crown procedures usually consist of two appointment visits. The initial visit involves taking an impression of the tooth to be sent to a dental lab to create the permanent crown. A temporary cap is placed until the permanent crown is complete. At the second visit, your permanent dental crown is positioned and bonded to the tooth. Dr. Taimish and his staff will carefully examine and adjust the crown for a precise fit and color.
